Multi-Cultural Day
We have had a fantastic day learning about India. We have been learning to write instructions and we wrote a recipe for Vegetable Samosa's. We followed the recipe and made some delicious Samosas! We also learnt all about Hinduism and some of the festivals that are celebrated in India. We enjoyed learning about Diwali and we read the story of Rama and Sita. We also designed some Rangoli Patterns which are used to decorate peoples houses during Diwali. We were lucky enough to have some special visitors in class. One lady came all the way from India and she told us lots of information about life in India and taught us some Indian dance moves! We also had a workshop about Hinduism where we were allowed to dress up in traditional clothes. Wow! What a busy day!

We have had a lovely week in Year 2. As part of National Letter Writing Week, the children have been helping The Jolly Postman to replace his lost letters. We have been investigating shape in Maths and have worked in groups to create 3D cubes. We are really enjoying our Seaside Topic and have been learning to spot the physical features that you would find at the seaside.
